Arnold and Faith

For the first two weeks that we were in Dakar, Arnold, the preacher at the local church, was visiting in the U.S. for the first time. We were really glad when he returned and we could meet him! Arnold and his wife Faith are from Ghana and were both school teachers there for many years. After his teaching career, Arnold attended and graduated from a preaching school there in Accra. About 5 years ago they moved to Dakar for Arnold to begin preaching for the church, thanks to the generosity of a wealthy Christian businessman from Ghana.
Here is a photo of Faith and Arnold in their apartment.

Next is a photo of Arnold preaching. He is very demonstrative and engaging as a speaker.

Next is a photo of Arnold preaching in French and David translating into English.

Faith and Arnold are very grateful for their apartment, but it is not anywhere close to a nice apartment by our standards. Here are a few pictures of their apartment from the day that they invited us to a great lunch at their house. Faith had prepared a real feast of some traditional foods from Ghana. It was wonderful food, and they served us as if we were dignitaries.
