Trevor and Pauline

We have really enjoyed getting to know Trevor, the preacher for the Bristol church, and his wife Pauline. They are so friendly and welcoming to everyone. Trevor is an excellent preacher. Every Sunday they invite people into their home for lunch, especially visitors, and they may have anywhere from 6 to 16 people. Once a month, during the week, they have all of the senior members for a luncheon. The food is always so good---Trevor is a trained pastry chef and Pauline is a trained dietitian. We have tried several foods that are new to us, such as leg of lamb with mint sauce, rhubarb cobbler, and Christmas pudding (sort of like fruit cake).

Their house is attached to others, but it is on a corner. It is about 200 years old, and is worth somewhere around $400,000. Real estate is unbelievably expensive!!I don't know exactly how long they have lived in it, but I am guessing at least 12 years. They say that the value has gone up tremendously since they have owned it.
Their house is the one on the left, the red corner house with a white stone front and 3 chimneys showing (not the one with the car in the driveway).
These houses are in the next block on their street.

Upstairs are four bedrooms and one bath. (There is no bath in the master bedroom.) Downstairs there is a living room, office, kitchen, a small area added on the the back of the kitchen (with an extra sink ,the only refrigerator, storage, and a small 1/2bath), and a dining room. Trevor says that with a house this old, there is always work that needs to be done!
The next picture shows the entry hall.
The next picture shows the kitchen. Trevor and Pauline share the cooking. (They always have on their aprons.)

This is the only dining area. They use the entry hall to set up tables if there are lots of guests for a meal. (You can't see it from the photo of the entry hall, but there is just enough space to set up a long folding table beside the stairway.) The windows look into the back garden. There is a one-car detached garage at the back of the garden with an entry to the driveway from the street (with a wooden gate). We have not seen them park anywhere but on the street.

Here are Beryl and I "washing up" after the meal. They never say "washing dishes"---and in the grocery store you buy "washing up liquid", not "dishwashing liquid". As you can tell, there is no dishwasher at their house.

This is the back yard. There is a little more to the left that you can't see, mainly the garage and a very small vegetable garden.
The following are of the living room. I wish you could see the paintings better---Pauline did many of the ones in the living room, and she paints really well.

That was neat to have a picture tour of their house! The kitchen looks nice and roomy!

Do they have a full size refrigerator? You didn't mention a laundry room...

They do have a full-sized refrigerator in the room off of the kitchen---but it is not as big as most in the U.S.
I am assuming that the washer and dryer are in the same room.
