Scotland Trip, Part 7 (and last), Edinburgh

We spent the last night, Sunday night, of our Scotland trip in Edinburgh. We arrived there just in time to locate a Bed and Breakfast for the night, and we felt lucky to find one as most were already full for the night. It wasn't the best of places, but the people were friendly and served a huge and good breakfast. Because we had to get back to Martock by Monday evening, we did not have time to do anything but drive around a bit in Edinburgh.

The next photos are of the Edinburgh Castle, which is built on the site of an ancient volcano. We parked the car and just walked around the outside.

When we got back to the car, we discovered that we had a parking ticket! All of the signs on the street ---except the last one---were marked reserved for cars with special passes and then had arrows pointing to the left and right of the sign. The last sign only had arrows pointing to the left, so we assumed that parking to the right of the sign was OK. Wrong! I appealed the ticket-- even sent in pictures--but my appeal was denied, so we had an expensive parking spot for an hour!
The next photos are scenes are leaving Scotland. We had a great trip!

So what does a parking ticket cost you over there?

The parking ticket was 60 pounds, or $120, but if paid within 30 days it was cut in half. $60 was still a lot for a parking ticket to me!

Glad to see the pictures of that castle again. Scotland is beautiful. Glad you had the opportunity to revisit Scotland and see some of the sites you had seen before.

Edinburgh - was it as neat to visit it the second time as it was the first time? I really enjoyed our visit there! I loved the castle. Thank you for sharing the photos this time, they bring back great memories!!!
